Dear Friend:

The University of Chicago Celiac Disease Center is on the precipice of unprecedented breakthroughs and we cannot let a challenging economy stop our significant and hard-fought progress! We have you to thank for bringing us this far and we are hopeful that you will continue to support our work.

The world will be a very different place once a mouse-model for celiac disease is developed and our research team is the closest in the world to making that happen! Those living with the disease may have an alternate treatment to the gluten free diet and those at risk for the disease may have a vaccine to prevent it. Dr. Jabri and her team believe that they have the science and technology to create the mouse we now need the funds to see it through.

While our research team is busy making strides toward exciting discoveries, the staff at the Center is busier than ever. As we continue to raise awareness and diagnosis rates,  we are fielding more than 500 calls and emails per month, sending out dozens of Gluten Free Care Packages each week and educating every day thousands of people and medical professionals nationwide through our Preceptorship P rogram, the countless speaking engagements of our dedicated Physicians and our robust website. The University of Chicago Celiac Disease Center remains the onlv resource for thousands of the newly diagnosed across the country.

We are looking forward to a ground breaking year in 2010 and are counting on your financial support.  Remember, our work is completely dependent on charitable donations from generous people like you! Please feel free to send your donation in the enclosed envelope or via credit card online at We thank you in advance for your steadfastness as together we advance our mission and improve lives. We wish you and your families a very happy holiday season and a prosperous and healthy New Year!
